A Day Trip Across the Border

On Wed 13th February members from the Spectrum Centre and Springvale Learning came together to represent the Belfast Clubhouse as part of a cross community trip to the Dublin Clubhouse. The long journey down on the bus gave the members the chance to get to know each other and it was not long before they were laughing and singing together.

We received a warm welcome when we arrived at the Dublin Clubhouse from both staff and members. Everyone was put into groups of three and given a project to work on. Each group was given a digital camera and a creme egg and asked the question, "How do you open yours?" The groups all came up with their own novel way of unwrapping the cream egg in a stop motion animation. Not only were members working together, but they were developing new skills in animation.

This collaborative project was a great opportunity for Clubhouse members from Belfast and Dublin to break down cultural barriers through a common interest and share in the Clubhouse experience.
